Every donation we receive helps us in providing shelter and supportive services to veterans, single-parents with children, families, and other individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of it.
Whether with one of our “…In A Box” options or any of the other meaningful ways to donate items, please see the list below to determine how you, your family or any other group, can get involved to help us fight homelessness. (individual items may also be donated to be assembled as “boxes” later).

*NOTE: IRS guidelines require that used items be usable and in “good used condition or better”. Please make sure your gently used donations are usable and clean. Car seats, cribs, highchairs and strollers all have expiration dates due to continuous safety improvements.

Everyone’s birthday is important. For most adults, birthdays were a childhood ritual and a celebration of important age milestones. But what if your birthday was forgotten and no one ever sang happy birthday to you? We believe that no child should ever have that experience and go without celebrating the day of their birth. Something as simple as a birthday party has the power to bring hope for a brighter future; despite life’s struggles. So, each quarter we have a birthday party to collectively celebrate each child born in a month of that quarter. Each child is welcomed to invite their immediate family and one friend to the party. The event is called Birthday Candles, and is for kids ages 1-16. It takes a magical team to host Birthday Candles. We need photographers, food, toys, clothes, shoes, party décor, entertainment and more. These resources and gifts go directly to benefit the families, and have a lifelong impact. Most, like to celebrate their birthday; even when they avoid having it be acknowledged. We believe it is important to acknowledge and help all of our participants celebrate the day they were born. Unfortunately, our adults are usually the ones that go unnoticed or completely forgotten – as if birthdays were only important for children. You can help change that for our participants. The majority of our families are the “working poor” and find it hard to make ends meet throughout the year. For these families struggling to maintain financially, the holiday season can be yet another time of hardships. The joy of the holiday season is usually lost. But through your kindness and support, we can make the season easier for our parents and a lot more special for our children. There are two ways you can help. You can adopt-to-shop for a family or, if you prefer not to shop, you can adopt-to-financially sponsor, and our staff will do the shopping. This is an opportunity for our partners to help economically disadvantaged children start off the school-year with a new backpack and essential school supplies. Back-to-school shopping can be a challenge for many families, but especially ours. Each student’s uniforms, notebooks, loose-leaf paper, binders, pens, markers, and calculators, add up to a pretty large expense. With our mission partners we serve over 1,300 children and youth in Dallas ISD. At this special carnival-like event, children from our housing programs and area shelters enjoy a fun afternoon of games, activities, and refreshments. The Back-to-School Celebration concludes with each child/youth receiving a new backpack filled with school supplies and a new school uniform to start off the new school year! There are lots of volunteer opportunities to help before, during, and after this event. We also have a need for donations of school supplies, school uniforms, and baked goods to help make the celebration a success.

The Christmas holiday is often a time of additional hardship and financial stress for those living in poverty. To bring some of the joy back into the season, we assemble a team of elves (generous donors) to set up and manage Santa’s Village for a day. Our Santa’s Village is a holiday gift store that provides our young program participants, ages 5 – 15, with an opportunity to purchase gifts for their family members. This is a fun and educational experience where the kids learn important budgeting habits for holiday surprises. All items have to be “kid priced” with a 100% thoughtful guarantee! If you, or someone you know, have direct sales products or make holiday crafts that you are willing to donate (costume or small jewelry, beauty products, perfume, wallets, purses or holiday décor) and would like to set up a “booth”, this is the opportunity for you!!
